Rice-A-Roni Nicolaes Maes Old Woman Saying Grace Print Ad 1987 1980s (2pgs)
Before Savory Classics, a delicious side dish in 10 minutes took a miracle. This 1987 Rice-A-Roni two-page spread reproduces Nicolaes Maes' 1655 painting Old Woman Saying Grace, showing an elderly woman in a white cap praying over a simple meal of bread and fish. The Chicken Florentine box and witty headline make it a unique blend of fine art and 1980s food advertising.
