A lively two-page 1988 Newport ad shows a laughing man in a colorful Aztec-pattern sweater peering through a magnifying glass at a smiling woman in a striped purple pullover. The line Alive with pleasure on bright green sums up late 1980s menthol cigarette advertising. The spread was carefully removed from a magazine, and the image may not line up exact in the center.
