Comedy Central "Absolutely Fabulous" Glam TV Comedy Print Ad 1995 1990s
Comedy Central wants viewers to tune in for the British sitcom "Absolutely Fabulous," and this 1995 ad does it with a wink at the show's cheeky original title. Two over-the-top friends, Patsy and Edina, pose in a tartan shawl with a cigarette and a shimmering gold top beneath a towering blonde beehive. A black panel with golden type promises champagne-soaked antics and announces the June 12th season premiere. It is a campy slice of mid-1990s cable marketing.
